You never know what you might see while out wandering. I ran across this tree with an anchor through it. I wonder how long it took for the tree to grow around the anchor and how big the tree was when the anchor was placed there. So keep your eyes open while out exploring because you never know what you might find hidden behind the next tree.

Now that we live at the beach, away from the big city of Atlanta, it is much easier to see the stars and more of them. I never realized how much the light pollution around Atlanta hindered the number of stars that were visible. It was here that I was able to make my first photograph of the Milky Way. It’s cool to be able to walk out into our backyard and see this many stars above our house while listening to the waves of the ocean rolling on the beach.

I’ve always enjoyed music. It could be because music has been in my family all my life. My grandfather, uncle and cousin all play guitar. My grandmother has played the piano at her church for over 60 years.  My dad plays a double bass and played banjo a few years ago. And my oldest son is a middle school band director. Almost every night I’ll sit down and play a few songs on my guitar while the kids listen and sometimes sing along.

It’s Bow Tie Tuesday! For last three months I have been wearing bow ties on Tuesday. Why wear a bow tie on Tuesday? you might ask. Well there are two reasons, number one I learned how to tie a bow tie and didn’t want to waste my new skill and number two it’s fun! I take a photo of myself wearing the bow tie and post it on my Instagram using #bowtietuesday to share the post with other bow tie wearing people.

Here are some of the bow ties I have collected in the last three months. I might even start making my own ties before long.

A quick photo of the waterway as I was driving home. It was about ten minutes before sunset. Seeing a view like this on my drive home really puts a big smile on my face.
