I try to make time to stop by the Cape Fear River to watch the sunrise. This morning I had a special treat, a sun pillar. I’m not sure if I have ever seen one before, but I’m glad I was able to catch this one this morning.

There are days when you don’t get exactly what you had in mind and you have to change direction. I wanted a cool photo of the Southport Fire Station, but work and the sun just wasn’t cooperating today. Luckily we have a few old camera around the house that make for great last minute subjects. I know it’s not a firefighter to go with the word of the week, but the word of the week is there to help if you need an idea.

Yep it’s time for a new word of the week. This week’s word is “firefighter,” this should be fun. This is weather vane is on top of the local fire station.

I like walking through the church’s green room and seeing so many of the image I made for them hanging on the walls. It was a fun project and reminded me how much I enjoy concert photography.

Did anyone really thing that I was going to make it thought this week’s word without a photo of an orange.

When you daughter has a new lightsaber there is no way it not going to be used in a photo. An it can be an color including orange, because that’s this week’s word, how cool is that. I may have to get me one just so we can create some unique photos with them.

Still shooting stuff that is orange to go with this week’s word. Believe it or not this yo-yo is spinning. But because I used a flash, it is frozen in time. I might try another photo later to see if I can show the blur of a spinning yo-yo.

I found some orange conduit at a road side construction site to help me stick with this week’s word, orange. I got some very funny looks from the workers when I pulled in and started taking pictures of the spools. I’m sure they thought I had lost me mind.

The Moon and Venus were shining so bright in the sky this morning just before sunrise. There was not way i was going to just keep driving and ignore them. So I made a quick stop by the beach and get this great shot. Bonus to have such an orange horizon to go with this week’s word, “orange.”
