I found a way to get the kids to rake the leaves in the yard. It might not work on all kids, but if you have a teenage daughter that enjoys having her picture taken, you might be in luck.
Here is how it went for me. I looked out the window and said “Hey, if you go out there and rake those leaves in a big pile, I could take some cool pictures of you in them.”
Lindsey looked at me and said “Really!” to which I replied “sure.”
Here is the proof, Lindsey hard at work raking the yard. I’m a super genius (insert evil laugh here).

Living in a house full of females, I’m used to being asked questions about hair color, nail polish color and shoe selection. I try to stay away from the clothing selection, unless it’s about a short dress (my dad duties is to approve all dress lengths). I did help pick out Lindsey’s new hair color. Jamie and Kathryn looked at the 400 different hair colors on the shelf at the store and brought me two to pick from. I’m just doing my part to help the ladies in my live look their best, just another one of the great things about being a dad.

I was talking to someone about color calibrating monitors for the purpose photo editing. I thought I would share what I use to calibrate mine. I use a Spyder 3 by Datacolor and try to calibrate my monitor once a month. I also calibrate it when I to replace a light bulb in my office, or if for some strange reason I rearrange my office and the lighting setup changes. The Spyder 3 makes it very easy, just start the application and follow the instructions. I really enjoy the last screen of the calibration process where is lets you see and few photographs and you can toggle to before and after views. When I need a second calibrator I’m going to get Spyder 4 Pro. A calibrated monitor makes a world of difference to how the images turn out.

I’m telling you that Lacy is one to the most photographed subject around our house.

I have often thought I might like to try fencing, this could be because of The Princess Bride and Inigo Montoya. I never really new of a place that I could try it out. As I was going the bank today I drove past what used to be a Sears store, but is now a fencing facility. I may have to check into a little more.
