Day 3 Project 366 – Father and Son Time

by Ken Worley

After lunch, my youngest boy and I went on a bike ride to the waterway. I try to spend a little one on one alone time with each of the kids. Even if it’s just a quick ride to see if there are any boats sailing past. It’s fun to listen to his thoughts on life and to get a glimpse into how he sees the world. He always wants to know if it’s high tide when we get near the water. Explaining to him that the tide is not always high nor always low, but that there are times when it is in between high and low, really blows his mind. Kids make life fun and can open your eyes to new ways of seeing things.

Day 2 Project 366 – Longboard

by Ken Worley

Christmas this year was wheel themed for the kids. A pair of roller skates for our eight year daughter, a bike for our six year son, and a Penny board for our teenage daughter. It had been a long time since I was on a skateboard until a few weeks ago. I was able to try out the Penny board a couple of times and I liked it so much I decided to buy a longboard for myself.

After a day of reading about and learning more then I thought I wanted to about longboards. I decided to go with a 39″ pin-tail from Atom Longboards for my first longboard. Let the fun times, and trying something new, begin.

Day 1 Project 366 – Kayaker

by Ken Worley

I’ve been a bad blogger and have not posted in quite some time, and I think it was fours years ago since my last photograph a day project. So I decided it’s time for another one, starting the New Year off with a new project. The funny thing is that my last photo a day was also “Project 366” because it was a leap year then too.

A lot has changed in the last few months. The biggest thing was moving to a small coastal town in North Carolina, which played part in the absence of blog posts, but it also adds plenty of new places to explore and photograph.

While biking with the kids, we stopped by one of the many waterside docks and spotted a kayak going down the Intracoastal Waterway. We hope to own a couple of kayaks of our own very soon so we can start exploring our new town in even more ways.

I’m starting Project 366 off with The Kayaker.

Maria: 2015 Senior!

by Ken Worley

High School Senior

Maria graduated mid-year from Lighthouse Christian Academy! Unlike me who had to take every single class all the way through my senior year. She wanted a sunny look to her photos, so we headed out to a large field to play in the sun. I love when clients toss out ideas before a session, it gives the opportunity for us to work together and create great images that allow more of their personality to show.

In the fall, Maria will attend Georgia Southern University where she wants to study criminal psychology. She also enjoys Beach Volleyball and is learning to play the guitar.

Congratulations, Maria!

Jake: 2014 Senior!

by Ken Worley

High School Senior portrait

Jake is another Johnson Ferry Christian Academy Senior! His musical abilities are impressive: he plays the piano, sings, and is learning to play the guitar. I’m sure the he can play circles around me. And he is a pretty good baseball player.

After graduation he plans on going to college to study music management. Maybe one day I’ll have the honor of photographing his band’s cover photos.

Congratulations, Jake!
