Day 184 Project 366 – Science Experiment

by Ken Worley

Today I got to help Lindsey with a science experiment. It involved red cabbage, water, baking soda, and white vinegar to inflate the balloon. I keep waiting for the experiment that blows stuff up, I may have to make that one up on my own.

Day 183 Project 366 – Strobe Died While Photographing a Wedding

by Ken Worley

While photographing Brandon and Diane’s wedding yesterday, I had a strobe (the big flash on a stick) that stopped working when shooting the groom’s side of the wedding party before the ceremony. I thought it might be due to the fact that that particular strobe was the same one that was caught in the downpour a few days before. This is why it’s a good thing to always carry backup equipment. I changed the strobe unit and keep on shooting.

After the ceremony the backup strobe stopped working as well. Then I switch to hot-shoe flashes and keep going. Today I found out what happen to the strobes. I’m not sure if it was from the 103 degree heat that causes the fuse to blow or if it was just its time. But from now on I will have a stash of fuses with me.

Day 182 Project 366 – Wedding Day

by Ken Worley

Brandon and Diane’s wedding was today and we made it through the 103 degree outdoor wedding without anyone passing out. It was a great day and very special for me. Being able photograph my son’s wedding combines two of the things I really love, family and photography.

Day 181 Project 366 – Rehearsing

by Ken Worley

Tomorrow is the big day, my son is getting married. The rehearsal dinner was tonight at the same time of day as the ceremony will be held tomorrow. This gave us the opportunity to see what it would be like tomorrow.  It’s a great venue with beautiful views, but it is going to be hot. The forecast for tomorrow is a high of 102 and the ceremony is outside. But in the end it’s all about the union of to my son and future daughter-in-law in marriage and not the heat.

Below is a shot of the couple walking down the isle after their faux announcement.

Day 180 Project 366 – Guess the Subject

by Ken Worley

Can you guess what this is a photograph of? For some it will be obvious but others may find it a little more difficult. Happy guessing.

Day 178 Project 366 – Lacy

by Ken Worley

Lacy has the best facial expression of any dog I have ever owned. They are so funny that we end up talking for her all the time. Below she is saying “why are you making the crazy noise just to talk a photo of me.”

Day 177 Project 366 – Rainy Shoot

by Ken Worley

It was a beautiful day, a little hot, but still a very nice day for a high school senior session. I saved the sport shots for last so my senior would not be all sweaty for the fashion photos. The location for the sport action shots was the furthest away from the car or shelter. Then it started to rain. As I shot a few more frames, it rained harder; the next thing I knew the bottom fell out and it was raining sideways. Everyone involved was soaked, and I found out that a soft box can double as an umbrella for a short period of time. It was a fun day, rain and all!

Day 176 Project 366 – Blueberries

by Ken Worley

We have a couple of blueberry bushes next to our driveway and because my daughter loves to pick them there is never a shortage of fresh blueberries in our house during the summer.
