Day 183 Project 366 – Strobe Died While Photographing a Wedding
While photographing Brandon and Diane’s wedding yesterday, I had a strobe (the big flash on a stick) that stopped working when shooting the groom’s side of the wedding party before the ceremony. I thought it might be due to the fact that that particular strobe was the same one that was caught in the downpour a few days before. This is why it’s a good thing to always carry backup equipment. I changed the strobe unit and keep on shooting.
After the ceremony the backup strobe stopped working as well. Then I switch to hot-shoe flashes and keep going. Today I found out what happen to the strobes. I’m not sure if it was from the 103 degree heat that causes the fuse to blow or if it was just its time. But from now on I will have a stash of fuses with me.

Day 181 Project 366 – Rehearsing
Tomorrow is the big day, my son is getting married. The rehearsal dinner was tonight at the same time of day as the ceremony will be held tomorrow. This gave us the opportunity to see what it would be like tomorrow. It’s a great venue with beautiful views, but it is going to be hot. The forecast for tomorrow is a high of 102 and the ceremony is outside. But in the end it’s all about the union of to my son and future daughter-in-law in marriage and not the heat.
Below is a shot of the couple walking down the isle after their faux announcement.

Day 177 Project 366 – Rainy Shoot
It was a beautiful day, a little hot, but still a very nice day for a high school senior session. I saved the sport shots for last so my senior would not be all sweaty for the fashion photos. The location for the sport action shots was the furthest away from the car or shelter. Then it started to rain. As I shot a few more frames, it rained harder; the next thing I knew the bottom fell out and it was raining sideways. Everyone involved was soaked, and I found out that a soft box can double as an umbrella for a short period of time. It was a fun day, rain and all!
