Day 205 Project 366 – Shadows

by Ken Worley

Sometimes I just have to make a photo of something I see. This photo was lit by the sun shining through the entrance of a office building. The entrance has two large windows and a glass door in the center; causing some very strange shadows.

Day 204 Project 366 – Lens Calibration

by Ken Worley

I found this chart online that is designed to help you calibrate your lenses. I’m not sure how accurate it is yet. I’m still in the process of testing it and at least one other one that I found. I’ll let you know what I find out.

Day 203 Project 366 – Eat more Chikin

by Ken Worley

Jamie and I were at a Foster Parents Summit getting some of the training hours we need to stay approved by the state. Our lunch was provided by Chick-Fil-A. It was funny the while we were there Lindsey our oldest daughter was at work at Chick-Fil-A. She told me later that she had Chick-Fil-A for lunch and dinner that day. Ah, the joys of working at a restaurant.

Day 202 Project 366 – Name That Tune

by Ken Worley

This was on a shirt I saw today. It may not be obvious as to what it is so here’s a little hint, it’s a song from 1992.

Day 201 Project 366 – Tables

by Ken Worley

We are trying to decide on which table we want to use in the dining room. During this process it looks like the tables are taking over our house.

Day 199 Project 366 – Brainstorming

by Ken Worley

Some days I need to sit down with a nice cup of coffee and do a little brainstorming. Don’t worry Jamie was not far away with a cup of tea. I’m glad to have a my wife as a business partner and best friend. It makes spontaneous business meetings very nice easy to attend.

Day 198 Project 366 – Leaping Lacy

by Ken Worley

This is how Lacy lets us know when she wants to go out. She wanted to go really bad this time because there was a bunny in the backyard. I thought she was going to bang her head, land on the printer or even land on me. She did pounce me one time on my back while we were playing and I came inside with her back paw prints on my shoulders. I think I’m going to have her fitted for a cape soon.

Day 197 Project 366 – Light Painting

by Ken Worley

I decided to try a little light painting on my car tonight. So armed with my camera and lens, a tripod, and a flashlight; I headed out in the night to do my thing. My family looked at me like I was crazy when I was put on a black shirt at bed time. This was my first attempt at lighting something as big as a car with only a flashlight. I have lit smaller object this way, like my bass and the cross for the Dominican Republic mission trip but lighting a car was a little more of a challenge.

After pressing the shutter button I had to run around the car shinning the light where I wanted it before the shutter closed again. Making sure the light was not pointed at the camera during that time was tricky. I would have liked to of had a flashlight with a narrower beam for certain parts. I can imagine a photographer that does a lot of light painting having a tool belt with many different size flashlight in it, like a painter with would with brushes.

Day 196 Project 366 – Mischief

by Ken Worley

We had a visitor last night. This guy was running around our yard. So we went outside to see if he would come to us. My family must have some type of draw for dogs, this has to be the 7th one that we have caught after they escapes from their home.

He had no tag on his collar and the veterinarian was closed for the night, so he got to spend the night in the our laundry room. We decided to take him to the vet just in case he was micro chipped. The good new is that he was and his owner had called earlier to see if anyone had found him. By the time the vet used the micro chip service to find the owner,  they were out driving around and came up to the office to pick him up very quickly.

It was a happy ending to his little adventure. And he was very appropriately named, Mischief.
