Rushing Through the Day

by Ken Worley

Lady Bug

There are many things that can be missed while traveling through our daily life. I’m amazed at the things I might have missed if I was hurrying through the day without taking the time to stop and look around. I would have missed the ladybug in the above photo if I had not made time to look under the flower. There are many people that rush through their day and don’t take the time to see this great world around us. This is one of the reasons that I started the photography a day post, to help me to look around and enjoy the world around me.

#6 – Great Wall of Bicycle

Wall of Bike

Photograph of the day number six. Here is something most people don’t see everyday. This is on the outside wall of a bicycle shop I pass on the way to work every morning.

#5 – Field

by Ken Worley

Field

Photograph a day number five. This field is not far from work. I felt like running through it just to see what else was out there, but the NO TRESPASSING signs and the barbed wire kept me where I was. This is from outside the field looking in, but it’s better than getting a ticket for trespassing.

#4 – Mother’s day flower

by Ken Worley

Mother's Day

Photograph a day number four. This was during Mother’s Day. We were outside taking pictures when Kathryn picked a wild flower and wanted to show it to me. I liked the way the flower was in focus and everything else was blurred.

Mother’s Day

by Ken Worley

Today is Mother’s Day, so here is a picture of Jamie and Kathryn. The love between a mother and a child is so wonderful to watch. I’m blessed to be able to see it on a daily basis. I just wanted to say Happy Mother’s Day to my wife (Jamie), and to all the mothers out there who may stop by and read my blog.

#3 – Shed

Shed

Photograph a Day number three. I just liked the way the tree at the front of the drive way framed the shed in the background.

#1 – Lacy

by Ken Worley

Lacy

This is the first photo in the Photograph a Day section, meet Lacy our greyhound mix. If you look closely at her eye, you can see the reflection of our house. Greyhounds have been call the 45 mile-per-hour couch potato, now I know why. When Lacy is not lying around chewing on her toy or sleeping, she is running laps around the backyard and leaping through the air. She is fun to watch but can be hard to get a picture.

The Title Photo

by Ken Worley

I wanted to share a little information about the title picture of this page. I pass this small park everyday on the way to work. The park is a very special place to me; the gazebo is where I proposed to and married my wife, (there was some time between the two events). One morning I decided to stop and take a picture. The sun was not up, if you notice the clock in the right of the picture it reads 5:50, this gave me the chance to make the photograph with out anybody being in the scene. I really like the way the light from the clock and street pole help frame the shot. Notice how the sky behind the gazebo fades from dark blue at the bottom to black at the top as the sun starts the day.
