Exploring the docks brings back memories of spending time on my dad’s sailboat. Moving to a coastal town is getting me that much closer to having a sailboat of my own one day.

Like my little boy, I have to resist the urge to turn every wheel and push every button I pass. Unless I’m in a store and there’s a sticker on something that says “try me,” then all bets are off. Jamie loves that (he said sarcastically).

Some times you have to explore a little from your normal route home.

The kids and I enjoyed a little guitar music before bed time tonight.

Pizza is my favorite food group. Okay, I know it’s not really a food group, but it should be. So I guess I would have to say pizza is one of my favorite meals. What’s not to like? You don’t need a fork. It covers many of the “real” food groups in one pie, depending on what toppings you add to it. There is only one pan to clean after cooking it. Pizza is good at any time of day. Heck, you can even teach your kids fractions while you eat it.

I enjoy watching the sunrise, a fresh start to the day reminding me of another chance to discover and learn something new. I feel we should try and learn something new everyday, no matter how insignificant it may seem. The color of the sky changing as the sun peeks over the horizon fascinates me.

The kids and I decided to stop by the beach on the way home from lunch at our favorite pizza place. I’m still getting used to being able to say that we “stop by the beach.” Before we moved, it was at least a four hour car ride to the ocean. Now we can ride bikes, skateboards, or even walk to the beach. We walked by these dunes today after we parked our bikes. The dunes are roped to keep people off them to help prevent erosion.

I think someone wants to help me with my snack.
