Day 28 Project 366 – Concrete Station

by Ken Worley

It’s funny the things you see if you take the time to look around. I’ve driven by this spot many times and never knew there was a concrete station here. Or maybe it just didn’t register as to what it was until I saw the concrete truck dumping water out of the mixer onto the gravel road going up the loading station. Keep your eyes open for the unnoticed.

Day 27 Project 366 – Wii Time

by Ken Worley

It has been said that inside every man there is a little boy, and I’m no exception to this statement. I might just let my inner child show a little more often than some. After all, I did just buy a longboard so I could go out and have fun with the kids. We enjoy a good game of Mario Cart Wii when we can’t go outside. As you can tell from the concentrated look on our faces that we mean business and take our racing very seriously.

Day 26 Project 366 – Planets?

by Ken Worley

There is an astronomical event happening where five planets line up in the sky and can be seen with the naked eye. I decided to go out this morning and try to photograph them. I don’t think I got all five but I might have a few in the frame. I’m sure one of my geeky astronomy friends can help me out and tell which ones I did get in the photo.

Day 25 Project 366 – Circuit Board

by Ken Worley

Have you ever looked inside a computer? This is just one very small section of the main board in a server. The circuit board in a computer reminds me of a little city from above. It’s divided up into blocks like city streets and even has little roadways running between the buildings/components. Do you see it or is it just my cartoon brain at work again? I decided to break out the micro lens for today’s photo. Micro photography is fun and challenging. I used my iPhone flashlight as the light source for this shot.

Day 24 Project 366 – Sombrero

by Ken Worley

If you have ever driven on I-95 across the North Carolina/South Carolina border you can’t miss the large sombrero high above the interstate.

Day 23 Project 366 – Cold Day at the Beach

by Ken Worley

Most of the photos I’ve seen on Facebook and Instagram today are of snow that has hit the eastern part of the United States. While we did not have snow here, the kids and I did decide to stop by the beach on the way to our favorite pizza place. Because of the 30-something degree temperature, we had the beach to ourselves for the 3 minutes we could stand to be there.

Day 22 Project 366 – Poor Boy

by Ken Worley

Today I had a chance to visit Holden Beach and found a fishing boat named “Poor Boy.” I’m sure it’s been photographed many times because you can see it as you cross the bridge. I had to photograph it, too. I would’ve explored the area more but the rain kept me from doing so. It’s hard to tell in the photo, but I could only see about five feet in front of me while driving home afterwards.

Day 21 Project 366 – Peacefulness

by Ken Worley

The peacefulness of boats anchored in the harbor. One day I hope to have a sailboat too, but I need to learn how to sail one first.

Day 20 Project 366 – Hallway

by Ken Worley

This reminded me of a scene that could be in horror movie. You find yourself alone in a narrow dimly lit hallway. You are trying to reach the small three foot tall exit door at the other end of a grate floor hallway above a twenty foot drop into the unknown. The rumble from the machinery off in the distances hides the sounds of what ever might be lurking in the shadows.

Day 19 Project 366 – Bow Tie Tuesday

by Ken Worley

A couple of weeks ago I posted a photo of my bow ties. Yesterday a friend of mine from Marietta asked when he was going see me in one of the bow ties. Never fear my friend, your waiting is over. I sport a bow tie at the very least on Tuesday, but I enjoy it and might start wearing them more often. You never know I might even try to make my own some day.
