Today’s photograph is fun for little different reason. This iris is one of the many that my Grandmother gave us last year, we had no idea what color it was going to be until it opened. That may have been my fault, I kind of mixed them up on the ride home.

There will probable be a lot of unique perspectives with this week’s theme being “Just for fun.” And I get to have fun in the process, of course I always have fun when I’m making photos. Like the slide photo below, I slid down it right after this shot. I did almost flip out on my head because my shoes are very grippy and stopped very quickly when I didn’t expect it.

Today start a new weekly theme, this week’s theme is “Just for fun!” Which is exactly why a couple of the girls from the photography club decided to climb this rope pyramid. This week should be a blast finding fun things to photograph.

Today in the last day of this week’s “Jewelry” theme. I though Lacy, our dog, should have her jewelry in this theme too. I know it’s just her collar and tag, but it is the only jewelry we have for her and she wears it everyday.

A nice string of pearls is the subject for today, as I continue this week’s “Jewelry” theme.

Today for this week’s “Jewelry” theme I photographed a necklace made by Ugandan women from scraps of paper. The women sell these necklaces to support themselves and their families. When I first saw these necklaces I thought they were some type of shell I would have never guessed they were made of paper. Jamie had a post, “Not Your Ordinary Necklace,” with more information about how we found out about these unique necklaces.

The only piece of jewelry I wear everyday with out fail is my wedding ring. I’m not really a jewelry wearing kind of guy and when I do it’s not very flashy. Take today’s photograph of my cross necklace for instance, very simple yet meaningful. This simple wooden cross on a leather necklace reminds me that I have a God the loves me more that I could ever imagine.

When my youngest daughter found out this week’s theme was “Jewelry,” she told me I could use her butterfly necklace for one of the days. I love it when my daughters help out with photographs for my projects.

Continuing with this week’s “Jewelry” theme, here is a simple brooch. It may be simple but it does have a special meaning in our family. No, it is not a family heirloom that has been past down through generations, well not yet anyway. The brooch was worn by Jamie on our wedding day and now both of our girls want to wear it on their wedding day as well and I think that is very cool. After all, family heirlooms have to start somewhere.

Today starts the new theme of the week, “Jewelry.” So I thought I would start it with the jewelry that means the most to me, Jamie and my wedding rings.
